The Monaco Optimist & Laser Academy has kept all its promises
Sunday was held Monaco Optimist & Laser Academy, organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco. The opportunity to see the young generation invade the Monegasque body of water.
Success was once again at the rendezvous for this 3rd edition of the Monaco Optimist & Laser Academy. Indeed, no less than 160 competitors from 27 clubs and representing 5 nationalities were at the start of the race.
And among them, many young residents of the Yacht Club de Monaco. The latter had the firm intention of remaining masters at home, and some were very successful. In ILCA 4, this is the case of Noah Garcia, a brilliant helmsman who has just left the Optimist series and who won two of the three rounds of the meeting, thus gaining first place in the general classification.

Louise Debeaumont, also a member of the YCM, for her part, signed a beautiful 8th place overall, while in ILCA 6, Bodhi Van der Linden took first place hands down, followed closely by another member. from the YCM, Mathis Duplomb.
In the Benjamin category, the French Julie Tricaud Revil from the Yacht Club de Cannes won all the rounds. Alexandra Santelli (Yacht Club de Monaco) took second place.

Finally, in the premier category, that of the small ones with 87 riders on the starting line, the battle was intense. Monegasques Matteo Asscher, Ludovica Bonelli and Alexandre Pompée were thus able to face excellent racers including Antibois Oscar Beuvry, who finally won.
Qualifier for the international event of the Monaco Optimist Team Race (MOTR), which will bring together from January 12 to 16, 2022 the 16 best clubs and nations of the specialty, a total of 64 riders, the Monaco Optimist & Laser Academy has decidedly held all its promises.
