The Hoxton to open hotels in Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin and London in 2022

Sugar Mizzy November 22, 2021

The Hoxton is entering its biggest year yet: in 2022, the brand will expand its presence across Europe with openings in the new cities of Barcelona, Brussels and beyond, and a fourth London hotel in Shepherd’s Bush.

The Hoxton, Williamsburg

After The Hoxton opened a brand new hotel in Rome in May 2021, four new hotel openings are scheduled for next year. The Hoxton has hotels in Europe and North America. In North America, the hotels can be found in New York, Portland, Chicago and Downtown LA. In Europe, there are four cities: Amsterdam, Paris, Rome and three locations in London: Shoreditch, Holborn and Southwark. There will be the new cities of Barcelona, Brussels and Berlin in 2022, and a fourth London hotel in Shepherd’s Bush.

Barcelona — opening spring 2022

The HoHo Barcelona will have 240 light and airy bedrooms, a restaurant bar and terrace, a taqueria and a rooftop pool, an event space in the basement and a multi-purpose meeting and event space with views over Diagonal Avenue. The bedrooms are all designed by Ennismore Design Studio. In Barcelona they are going to focus on a new room category called ‘Homey’. These rooms have their own lounge areas and kitchenettes and are aimed at the longer stay market.

Brussels — opening autumn/winter 2022

The Hoxton Brussels opens in the former Belgian IBM headquarters. The Brussels hotel will have 198 1970s-style rooms, a high-ceilinged lobby, high-ceilinged bar and restaurant, a rooftop bar/terrace, and a meeting and event space – all designed by Ennismore Design Studio. The building will also be home to Working From, the hotel’s coworking brand that currently has locations in Southwark (London) and Chicago. In Brussels, Werken Van will occupy five floors of the building, with open-plan offices, studios, breakout areas and communal pantries on each floor.

Berlin — opening autumn/winter 2022

The Hoxton will open next winter in Charlottenburg in West Berlin. The hotel is located in a former hotel, with Ennismore Design Studio also responsible for the complete transformation. The hotel’s design revolves around ‘Rough Nouveau’: a play with the rugged and functionalist materials of East Berlin and the enhanced, elegant patterns of Art Nouveau. The hotel will have 234 rooms in different sizes, a green winter garden room focused on the former Romanisches Cafe, a local meeting place for artists and a meeting and event space. Designed with a 1920s salon in mind, this space focuses directly on the lounge of Mary Wigman, the pioneer of the German Expressionist dance movement.

Shepherd’s Bush — opening winter 2022

Shepherd’s Bush arrives as the fourth Hoxton in his hometown of London. The hotel will be located on Shepherd’s Bush Green. Designed by Ennismore Design Studio. The hotel will have 237 rooms of various sizes, a central bar and open lobby with relaxed and eclectic vintage seating, a pastel colored restaurant, terrace and retro, retail space and a meeting and event space. Local art and design collaborations throughout the hotel celebrate the area’s creative neighbors and give them a place to meet and hang out.
