small makeover for the XSR700 (2022)
Developed from the concept created by Shinya Kimura in 2015, the XSR 700 quickly became a model particularly appreciated by those who wish to personalize their motorcycle. Thus, it served as the basis for more than 65 achievements within the framework of the Yard Built program and many others according to the moods of the owners.
For its 2022 vintage, Yamaha is making some changes. Thus, it inherits first of all an LED headlight which is broken down into two parts with the headlight divided into two while the position light takes the form of an arc of a circle.
This new light signature is accompanied by the adoption of a redesigned cockpit with an LCD meter with white display on a black background which has been moved to increase readability. This screen is controlled by controls, the ergonomics of which have been revised to make it easier to use, allowing the pilot, for example, to access the functions of the LCD meter while driving.
As was the case with its big sister, the XSR 900, a few months ago, the 700 inherited the technical developments of the last MT-07 with the transition to Euro 5 standards for its 689 cc CP2 engine. It also adopts new 298mm front brake discs, an overhauled front fork and standard Michelin Road 5 tires.
The range of colors is also evolving with this new vintage. In reference to the legendary RD350LC of the 80s, the XSR 700 has a beautiful blue and white tint as well as a black / gold variant.
At the same time, Yamaha will offer the XSR700 XTribute, a tribute to the XT500. This version beyond its hue will throw brushed aluminum tank covers, a flat two-seater saddle stamped with the XTribute logo on its rear part, XT-inspired patterns are associated with white mudguards and the famous anodized rims or all-terrain tires and of course a raised handlebar suitable for off-road use.
