In Russia, the number of people using drugs is higher than in the countries of Central and Central Europe and Central Asia. On Russia’s leadership for the International Commission on Drug Policy (ECECACD), informs Kommersant.

In addition, the commission’s report says that in Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia and Moldova, drug use is an administrative violation. They said it to the commission.
Earlier, Rosstat reported that in Russia, mortality from causes associated with the corresponding drugs increased by 60 percent in 2020, to 7,316 people. According to the ministry, the increase occurred against the background of the coronavirus pandemic – 4569 people died a year earlier.
