Prague will conclude a memorandum of cooperation with the Central Bohemian Region
The management of the capital will conclude a memorandum of cooperation with the Central Bohemian Region. It will concern the quality of life of the population, technical and transport infrastructure or the environment and education. They will also cooperate in other areas. The joint procedure will be regularly evaluated at mutual meetings. The memorandum will be for an indefinite period. This follows from a document approved by Prague councilors today. Both regions now cooperate, for example, in public transport, which falls under a single system.
In addition to the above topics, Prague also wants to cooperate with the Central Bohemian Region in social services and healthcare, culture, tourism and data areas, and digitization. The Councils of the two regions will also jointly raise funds for projects in these areas. The concrete steps will be gradually discussed and approved.
Both regions are delegating their representatives, who will continuously analyze and propose further steps. “The task of the delegated representatives will also be to coordinate the procedure in the administration of self-governing units in the respective region and within the development platforms,” the document said. They regularly evaluate the cooperation at joint meetings of the members of the City Council and Central Bohemia.
Prague and the Central Bohemian Region cooperate, for example, in transport. Public transport is gradually being interconnected into the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) system, where passengers can travel between regions with a single ticket, or timetables are coordinated. Prague and the Central Bohemian Region also cooperate in solving road transport, in the past also addressing flood protection.
