New Narrative started as the first transmedia podcast company in the Netherlands
The most compelling stories transcend medium and fans no longer think in one media type such as a book, podcast or a movie. New Narrative will be the first Dutch podcast producer to focus on creating narrative podcasts that fit in a transmedia world.

“With New Narrative, we want to help publishers and producers in the creative sector create a world where stories can be told using different media types,” said co-founder Eline Ronner. Take the world of Marvel. Fans can enjoy the adventures of Captain America and Wolverine as well as reading comics, watching movies and listening to podcasts.

The team
New Narrative was founded by Joshua Petit, Mari Koning, Reinjan Prakke and Eline Ronner. With music and sound studio Soundsright, Koning and Petit are responsible for the sound design and music of documentaries and commercials of major brands. Prakke is a podcast maker and director of commercials through his film production house Chapter Amsterdam. Ronner was ultimately responsible for the podcasts of BNR Nieuwsradio. Together, the founders previously compiled the podcast Het Nieuwe Geld, which was nominated for a Dutch Podcast Award.

A unique mix
What makes New Narrative unique is the bundling of experience in journalism, film and music. This unique mix allows a new story to look across the traditional silos within media companies and translate and tell stories across multiple platforms. “During the making of the New Money, I was able to experience the differences and similarities between telling a story with film or in audio. I now want to use that knowledge to present the best stories even more powerfully transmedia. That can be for films & series, but also for advertising campaigns, for example,” explains Reinjan Prakke.
