This lockdown should end automatically after 20 days, but only for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. And from February, a corona vaccination is mandatory for everyone in Austria. The protests of the opponents of the Corona measures are now becoming more and more violent, report journalists and the police.

Tyrol – explosive situation

The state of Tyrol has a good 40 percent more inhabitants than South Tyrol, but has a seven-day incidence three times as high: For every 100,000 inhabitants in Tyrol, 1,256 were infected with corona in the past week (in South Tyrol there were 415). With the currently high number of new corona infections, Innsbruck University Hospital is also reaching its limits, the doctors launched urgent appeals last week.

At the same time, the situation is becoming explosive, because opponents of corona measures have posted highly questionable calls for actions in hospitals in their networks, and patrol duty in and around the hospitals is being increased.
