‘Everything Happens For A Reason’
Maltese-American singer Amber Woods has vowed to continue her musical journey following her controversial elimination from X Factor Malta last night.
“At the end of the day, it’s a TV show,” Amber said in an Instagram story after the episode aired last night. “I have a lot more planned. It doesn’t end here again thanks to all the messages. “
“I love music. I didn’t want to replace who I had to replace on that chair, nor was it pleasant to be eliminated later. “
“It simply came to our notice then. Just keep your head high, and keep going. And this for all the artists there. ”
She said she will continue to write her own songs “for the love of music”.
“I don’t measure success in numbers, it’s about a real connection,” she said.
Amber, known as an influencer on the popular home for content creation ClubHouse Europe, performed a powerful interpretation of Sober by Demi Lovato during the Six Chair Challenge of X Factor Malta.
While most of the judges had good reviews for her performance, her own mentor Ivan Grech was more skeptical.
“For me you can do a lot more, be in your world and kind of close out of the connection,” Grech said. “I’m not sure if he deserves a seat or not.”
His fellow Judge Howard Keith Debono was incredible, shouted “and come on” and told Grech that giving a seat to the singer was a “no-brainer”.
Although Amber ended up winning Shirley Cachia’s seat, it turned out to be a short-lived experience as she was replaced by Rebecca Zammit, who was herself replaced by Lisa Gauci.
Several people have criticized Grech on social media for eliminating Amber and eating out of the audience’s reaction before deciding who to eliminate.
Meanwhile, here’s a 90-second summary of some of the highlights of yesterday evening – including all the moments where it seemed that Grech’s fellow judges weren’t exactly on the same page with him …
