Toulouse. The prefecture takes stock of the demonstration of November 20
Groups of people tried to enter the hypercentre of Toulouse during the demonstration against the modalities of application of the health pass.
Unlike previous Saturdays, there were some excesses on the sidelines of the demonstration which took place on Saturday, November 20 in the streets of Toulouse. It aims to set out the procedures for applying the health pass and compulsory vaccination for certain professions.
“The demonstration of this day to gather up to 600 people. Despite the peaceful nature of the majority of the demonstrators, some deposed groups engaged in excesses (throwing stones, smoke bombs, provocations against the police) “, according to a report communicated by the prefecture of Haute-Garonne in the evening.
People “have tried to enter the perimeter of the city center on several occasions (place Arnaud-Bernard, boulevard Alsace-Lorraine, rue du rempart Saint-Etienne and rue de Metz). They were pushed back by the security forces ”, according to the prefecture. It also indicates that an individual has been fined.
As a reminder, the prefecture took, Friday, November 19, a decree to prohibit access “to the hypercentre of Toulouse to any unreported protest rally” during Saturday, November 20. This decree directly concerned the demonstration against the health pass. The demonstration was however tolerated outside the city center.
