“You knew that for 25% of French men and women, a rapist is less guilty if the victim wears a miniskirt […]. The young woman, seated on a low wall of the Allées Jaurès metro, reads a text into the microphone.
In front of her, more than 1,200, the vast majority of women, purple masks on their faces, the color code of the demonstration organized by the collective # Noustoutes31 which took place this Sunday, November 21, in Toulouse.
Leaving the Ramblas, the procession took the boulevards to the Monument aux Morts before returning, after 5 pm, to the starting point. The demonstrators wanted to mark their full support for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which will take place on November 25.
Many collectives and associations
In Toulouse, they and they have a market to say “stop to patriarchal sexist and sexual violence”. “We called on all the collectives and associations to join us and say stop to the patriarchy,” explains Malika from the #Noustoutes collective. This means stop violence, stop feminicides, racism, LGBT – phobias, all possible violence that human beings may encounter. “
The report is for the moment dramatic in France where, since the beginning of the year, “we are at 101 women murdered by their companion or ex-companion, and we are fed up with counting our deaths”, protested Malika. Since the #MeToo movements and recently Balancetonbar, the word is free which is not everything. “The victims speak, but it is the ears which are closed”, concludes Malika.
