Toulouse. Nemanja Ilic: “It’s quite a good point”
Despite a laborious performance by his team, the Fenix winger preferred to be positive after the draw conceded at home against Limoges.
Nemanja, how do you feel after this match that you thought you lost and then failed to win?
I think that’s a pretty good point. We were led by five goals in the first half, still three to five minutes from the end: frankly, we did not play very well tonight (yesterday, Editor’s note). And when you can’t take two points, you have to know how to take one.
You maintain your dynamic of four games unbeaten in the league …
Yes. It’s a shame because we let pass the opportunity to move up a little further in the standings. It’s all the more unfortunate that Limoges was not necessarily much better than us, but we prefer to see the glass half full. We will be satisfied with that.
Offensively you struggled to put your game in place. How do you explain it?
Yass’ (Yassine Idrissi, Limoges goalkeeper, Editor’s note) was hot and we struggled to find solutions. I’m repeating myself but we didn’t play well tonight, either in attack or defense.
On the contrary, you have been irreproachable on a personal level with 100% success …
(He cuts) I would have much preferred to miss half of my shots and win at the end. It’s good for my confidence because I work for it but the most important is really the end result. I can’t be satisfied with this.
You play again on Tuesday, against Plock in the European Cup. Isn’t that the best way to get rid of this frustration?
Unfortunately we will have to forget this match to dive back into Plock but when we have the time, I would like us to come back to what did not work because it would be good to learn some lessons. Regarding Plock, we will prepare to win this match even if we are aware that on paper it is a team that is undoubtedly superior to ours. The priority is the championship, but this European Cup we went looking for so we will play all the matches thoroughly!
