Index – Domestic – Children orphaned by coronavirus are supported at the Budapest Fair
The wife of the President of the Republic called it important to support the work of the Regőczi Foundation, which provides assistance to children orphaned by the coronavirus epidemic, from the proceeds of a fair held in Budapest on Sunday, MTI writes.
Anita Herczegh, the chairman of the board of trustees of the foundation, also said at the fair held at the InterContinental Budapest hotel that Hungary will be represented at the event this year.
The entire proceeds of this year’s fair will be used to support the Regőczi Foundation, the BIZSU community space, the Next Life Association and Semmelweis University, added the head of state’s wife, the patron of the fair.
At the fair, the embassies of 25 countries presented the specialties, handicrafts, food, drinks and souvenirs of their nation. Visitors could also buy traditional cakes from Kazakhstan and Egyptian fruit products, among other things.
Those interested were also entertained by traditional dance performances; the event was organized by the Budapest Association of Diplomatic Spouses.
President János Áder and his wife established the Regőczi Foundation in 2021 with the aim of providing long-term and personalized care for children who have lost one or both parents due to the pandemic.
The Regőczi Foundation, which has been appointed to help the orphans of the coronavirus, supports the 10th anniversary of Being Good is Good !, a public service charity campaign.
