Bulgaria passes an exam in democracy. He did not give in to attempts to sow ethnic division. Reason and patriotism prevailed over apathy and lies.

The expectations that the citizens will get tired of elections and will prefer to return to the familiar old did not come true, Radev said. The return of the status quo on a white horse did not take place. Despite the huge money, despite the insinuations and propaganda, which did not flood daily with fake news, with directed scandals and made great efforts to oppose the elections, even today on election day, the president added.
The head of state said that the new parliament has no right to make mistakes and procrastination, because in his words the people will not forgive. Any of these parties that ignore this will be suicidal, will be denied by the people if the parties trade against the will of the people, the president said. If he further states that the profits of society must see an account of the political majority, to undertake immediate reforms in the judiciary, to prevent a socio-economic crisis during the winter months, to ensure protection, to take decisions delayed for years. The fight against the pandemic remains a priority, and the new government should not back down from national positions, especially when the stake is for Bulgarian identity and history and for the rights of our compatriots abroad, said President Radev.
The president said that the slogan of their campaign with Vice President Yotova “We are with you” remains their credo for the future. This is a victory of our mutual trust, a victory of reason and our united faith and desire for legality and justice, of our solidarity feeling that together we can succeed, Radev said. We still have a lot of serious efforts ahead of us, but Bulgaria is coming out of the stagnation and autocracy on the road to the city, to freedom and to modernization, she added.

Rumen Radev thanked all those who came out today to defend their vote for Bulgaria and added that democracy works thanks to them. He thanked all those who voted and supported their candidacy with Iliana Yotova, the Initiative Committee that nominated them, the parties that supported them and with which, in his words, they share common ideas, causes and goals for the future of Bulgaria.
Vice President Iliana Yotova also thanked all those who have given their trust again today, as well as all Bulgarians who took part in the vote, because, in her words, they have shown that they are citizens, not citizens. Yotova also thanked the others in her homes and added that this sign is also a very good reading and analysis, based on one, as it should move forward. Iliana Yotova personally dedicated the victory to her father, who is not alive because he made her a strong and brave girl, and politically – to Stefan Danailov – a great Bulgarian who first trusted them five years ago.
