We had left Fabien Ordonez almost two years ago. Pushed by his two sons, the daddy of Bigflo and Oli just released his first album and was preparing to go on tour. But the pandemic of Covid-19 decide otherwise.

A first album cut in its tracks by the Covid

“I was in full promo. In February 2020, I did a concert at the Grains Hall, which was a dream for me, and I had to go all over France to the Fnac and Cultura stores and to theaters. But everything stopped! », He confides. But Fabian Ordonez, 61 years old today, doesn’t want anyone. ” I can not complain ! The most important is health, go for it! I have not been sick and I have not had people who have been affected by the Covid ”.

Like many other artists, he proposed during confinement a song, every evening, on his social networks “To help people at my level to endure this period”. He adds: “We also saw during this period that culture is really important. Everyone played the game because we were bored at home too! It served at least that! “, entrusts ” El Padre “(Album name of sound, editor’s note).

Known thanks to the song Papa

The “Rebirth” by Fabian Ordonez at the start with ” Dad “, a tribute song released by his two sons in 2018, and in which he participated. Born in Argentina, Fabian Ordonez fled the dictatorship at the end of the 70s, at only 18 years old, and settled in Toulouse several decades ago, somewhat by chance. Guide by music. “I have had several lives in my life, it’s true. And I did a lot of jobs ”. He notably held for many years the Latin Quarter, renowned salsa bar in the Pink City.

” The song ” Dad “ introduced me to the general public and it was the start of a new life. People would say to my sons: ‘Ah, your daddy sings well, he should make it his job!’ While I’ve been making music for 40 years! (He is laughing, editor’s note) ”.

Following the success of the song Papa, Fabian Ordonez took part in the Zéniths tour of his offspring, then signed to Universal, introduced by Florian and Olivio. Everything is linked then, and then comes the album. “I wanted to change, to do something different. After 30 years of salsa, I wanted to do something more intimate. With my sons, the idea was to do like when I took out the guitar after a family meal and sing songs that I’ve been singing for a long time. That’s how we thought about this album ”.

In concert in Toulouse

Two years later, here it is again Fabian Ordonez on stage. He will give a concert on Wednesday December 8 at the We space of the Mercure-Compans Caffarelli, in Toulouse. “The idea is to make small stages, theaters from 200 to 500 places maximum. For my sons, it looks like there is no one there but for me, it’s huge! I want to do intimate things, tell my life story, and interact with the public. The goal is that people can ask questions, suggest songs! It will be an acoustic concert with guitar and percussion. The room at Mercure Compans Caffarelli is really made for that. This will make it possible to end the year on a high note ”.

At the same time, Fabian Ordonez is working with his musical director, Alejandro Riquelme, at a new album. “I would like to make a more personal second album, with more compositions. I like to tell stories. A bit like Bigflo and Oli do, but in songs! », He specifies.

News from Bigflo and Oli

And justly, we couldn’t not ask him the question. How are Bigflo and Oli, who are in the middle of a media and musical hiatus (which they had never done since the start of the meteoric rise of the two rappers, who nevertheless managed the feat of filling two Stadiums in their city? native)?

” They are doing very well ! They decided to take their break right when there was the Covid! It looked like they got the news before everyone else (laughs, editor’s note) ”, Says Fabian Ordonez.

The tone then becomes more serious: “They needed to stop because with everything they generated, they no longer had time to do what they really love: music. The, they really got into their album and they’re going to do something awesome. I asked for a few things, and it’s really great! », Assures the father of the family.

“They remained very close to Toulouse”

The two brothers have not left their dear Pink City.

“They are TFC partners with their Visionary brand. Olivio is also honorary president of a charitable association founded by the TFC, Toulouse Football Coeur. They are in Toulouse all the time. They know how to wait, and they are also stressed about it because he really wants to come back with something very chosen. I don’t worry about them. They are going to make a good album ”.
