The criminal weekly review: illegal moped racing through Berlin
At this point – at least quickly – only good news from the past week should be reported. Because many evildoers have been caught. On Sunday morning, three men blew up an ATM in a bank in Lichtenrade and fled by car. At the Rudow underground station, a patrol car looked across and the getaway car crashed into it. A perpetrator was able to escape, but at least a 27-year-old and a 30-year-old were arrested by the police.

In the afternoon it was sporty in Charlottenburg: A bicycle patrol loved a moped driver. He had driven on the sidewalk on Bismarckstrasse – and that without a helmet. A policeman and his colleague kicked afterwards: through Fritschestrasse, Schillerstrasse and Windscheidstrasse and shouted that he should stop, which he did not do. On his way he quickly rammed a pedestrian and a car driver had to brake hard. the law enforcement officers caught up with the moped driver. The 48-year-old is now being investigated because of a prohibited motor vehicle race.
Finally, dealers with false vaccination certificates were tracked down. On Tuesday, civil investigators in Lichtenrade observed a 20-year-old selling such a document. Investigators found blank vaccination records in his apartment. They also arrested a 26-year-old accomplice.
A 31-year-old man was also withdrawn from circulation at Südkreuz. He refused to wear a mask and buy a ticket on a regional train on Wednesday. When the conductor spoke to him, he drew a knife. Federal police arrest him.
On Thursday night, a cigarette machine was blown up on Nordbahnstrasse in Reinickendorf. The arrest of the perpetrators is still pending.
On the same day, property guards guarding the Chinese embassy saw a man on the other bank of the Spree who wanted to enter an office through a window. When a security guard ran over the Jannowitz Bridge, the perpetrator also fled to the bridge. From there he climbed along the wall of the railway viaduct over the Spree to avoid arrest. Police officers from Section 57 arrest the 24-year-old with the help of the water police and the fire department.
