Smoke bombs at demo in Vienna +++ Large demos also in Zurich and Lausanne
On Saturday, opponents of the Covid opponent protested against “Covid orders” at a week of rallies a week before the polls were held on Zürnplatz. More than 1,000 people protested in Lausanne.
According to flyers, the protesters in Zurich took a stand “together against the certificate, discrimination and mass surveillance”. Participants carried self-written posters such as “Corona is not the problem”, “Next stop Füdlispalt” and “Vaccinate your knees”.
Politicians have assumed rights they do not have, said former National Councilor Claudio Zanetti (SVP). “If the state only gives us fragments of freedom, it can take it away from us at any time.” He could easily revoke the validity of a certificate with the stroke of a pen.

“Together we overthrow a regime,” said Nicolas Rimoldi, co-president of the Mass-Voll movement, to loud cheers. And satirist Andreas Thiel and the other speakers who spoke out against the Covid law were supported with many “no” shouts.
Against the approved demonstration against the Covid certificate, an unauthorized counter-demonstration with the motto “Together against the right” with several hundred participants formed on the other sides of the train tracks in District 4 on Saturday afternoon.
The Zurich city police announced that smoke petards were occasionally ignited there. According to an initial assessment, however, there were no arguments at either of the demonstrations. There were also no reports of damage to property for the time being.
