Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree authorizing the placing of bronze books to Heroes of Russia and Heroes of Labor not only in their homeland, but also at their place of residence. A document that amends the position of the state award of the Russian Federation, published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The rules for installing bronze busts in the small homeland of heroes developed back in the Soviet years, although then they were awarded twice Heroes of the Soviet Union, twice Hero of Socialist Labor and holders of both titles. The tradition was inherited for its insignia, but now it has been decided to abandon it.
“In the event that a person is awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation and the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation in his homeland or upon actual stay on the basis of a decree of the President of the Russian Federation, a bronze bust with an inscription is installed to commemorate the feat,” the text of the decree on improving the state system says.
Earlier today, 20, Putin presented Patriarch Kirill, who is celebrating his 75th birthday, with the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. The award, as follows from the press service of the Kremlin, is cooperation with a contribution to the preservation and development of spiritual and cultural traditions, the strengthening of peace and harmony between peoples.
In June of this year, during the presentation, Putin asked a tractor driver from the Rostov region about his salary during the presentation of awards to the laureates of state prizes and holders of the title of Hero of Labor. Having learned that the average salary on the collective farm is 24 thousand rubles a month, the head of state reacted with the words “not enough, to put it mildly.”
