investigators come across 160 kg of cannabis and a gun
They hadn’t come for that.
This Wednesday, a police crew came across a stock of 160 kg of cannabis resin in a garage in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon while they were investigating a series of damage to the CCTV camera.
Last July, a group of individuals from the Mermoz neighborhood began sabotaging seven surveillance installations by sawing pylons and setting fire to their electric generator.
The investigations led the police to the homes of two suspects, aged 18 and 25, on Wednesday. It was in the older man’s garage that officials discovered the drugs, 25,000 euros in cash and a firearm used in another case.
According to Progress, this man is said to be linked to the “Daltons”, the group of delinquents whose members are dressed in yellow and black outfits. Indeed, the young man would be the brother of a member currently imprisoned and suspected of being one of the heads of the network.
Placed in custody and questioned, the latter did not say a word. He was presented to the prosecution on Thursday and remanded in custody before his trial in December.
The judicial police took up the investigation for drug trafficking.
