From kitchen waste fuel, Mlad Boleslav condition biogas station

Sugar Mizzy November 20, 2021

And the inhabitants of Mlad Boleslav will travel by public transport in those years, they will be able to see that the bus in which they first sit will move ecological fuel directly from their kitchens. In the industrial area on the outskirts of the city, construction has begun in the most modern and unique biogas plant.

The station, for 363 million crowns, will produce biological fuel CNG from biowaste in addition to heat and electricity for its own use, which will be refueled by city buses.

At present, similar facilities do not exist in all of them, and when they do, they are not so complete. This project is the first of its kind to include a bioCNG filling station in addition to biogas plants and will also be connected to the site to supply surplus natural gas, explains Compag CEO Radek Lizec.

Compag is a small city company, the city owns 49 percent and half of the decision-makers. It is financed from the current bank account for Compag and from a subsidy of 160 million crowns from the Ministry of the Environment, says the mayor of Mlad Boleslav Raduan Nwelati (ODS).

City of garbage cans

The biogas plant can process 25,000 tons of biodegradable waste. He will supply mainly households and so restaurants, eateries and gave catering establishments in the city. And the harvest is great, the people would now fill it with bio-waste two-thirds of the station’s capacity. At the same time, the leftovers are composted or taken away from the household. At the moment, the pilot project of the week, in which the associations of apartment ownership units (SVJ) are involved, we agreed with them. You u kitchen waste td, to mayor Nwelati.

Gradually, the city wants to provide special bins for most apartment buildings. People can be thrown into them, for example, peel, food, vegetables and fruits, but also leaves or perennials.

We would like to take care of these containers, at the house we have her a garbage can for biowaste from some old project, or we had two of them stolen from someone. Even so, but one people still honest biowaste nose, to Vladimir Kment, chairman of SVJ in the street Na Radoui on Mladoboleslavskm sdliti. If there were more of them and the people had them closer to the entrances, they would certainly have gone more, said Kment.

How will it bring benefits?

  • The Arel biogas station in Mladá Boleslav should be completed by the end of the first year, and in November 2022 it will start trial operation.
  • The city sweats with the fact that there will be less waste, which will have to be disposed of, thanks to this. You will also get green fuel for city buses, which you will not have to buy. Now in Mlad Boleslav there are more than 20 buses running on natural gas. The transport company wants to gradually buy another CNG bus, which will replace the diesel cars.
  • dispute m station pinst i people. In 2007, we used to be able to use the waste to make energy out of it, so I would like the people not to pay for the collection of municipal waste, to Mayor Raduan Nwelati. Whether a biogas plant will cost this is a question. At least those who will pay should be advantageous and pay me, he notes.

In the future, the waste from these containers will be transported to the biogas station instead of the landfill or compost, where the vehicle will enter the closed hall and the waste will be dumped in a silo. The silo will pass through non-metallic transport to the tdic line. Here it will be crushed and mixed with process water. At the same time, he separated the packaging of materials, sand, stones or glass. Eventually, the mass is transferred to the station itself, where it is broken down into biogas with the help of a microorganism.

This will create about 2.5 million cubic meters of biogas per year, explains Luk Urban, a representative of the Syner supplier, who won the competition and started construction. According to Urban, the gas station will be used immediately in the city in the cogeneration unit, which will supply the station itself with electricity and heat. The whole operation will be energetically sobstan.

Refuel the buses for free

More than 50 percent of the produced gas will be subsequently converted to bioCNG, which will be used at the filling station after pressurization. Buses from public transport will then go to this station and refuel with fuel practically free of charge. It will be maximally ecological and dark without emissions.

Surplus biomethane will go to the gas system, where it will replace natural gas for use. So whoever gets a gas boiler at home can flood the processed kitchen waste from time to time. Lizec states that the European Union is now at a point of view from the point of view of the Green Deal philosophy and the economy of the economy, when energy from waste returns to use in transport.

According to Mayor Nwelati, the current investment is only the first step in the overall transformation of waste treatment in the city. We will build a sorting line for municipal waste as such, so that the biological component will be disposed of from municipal waste, Nwelati added.
