Prague – The Ministry of Health should order the hospital to limit all procedures and operations that can be postponed, as it has created a reserve in advance for a possible further increase in hospitalized patients with covid-19 and acute cases. In response to today’s data on the spread of the covid epidemic, the candidate for the Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09), who is currently participating in the TOP 09 assembly in Prague, told ČTK. According to the Ministry of Health, however, there is no need to reduce deferred care, and the ministry only manages large teaching hospitals, ministry spokesman Daniel Köppl told ČTK.
The administration of anti-covid drugs, so-called monoclonal antibodies, should be extended to all medical facilities where it is possible, he said. According to the War, there is also a need to limit the amount of quarantine and its duration. It is for the recognition of negative PCR tests as a certificate certificate.
The most confirmed cases of coronavirus during the epidemic occurred in the Czech Republic on Friday. Laboratories detected 22,936 infected, about 8,700 more than a week ago. There were 4890 coronavirus hospitalized in hospitals on Friday. 724 of them were in a difficult state.
According to the War, the number of positive testers will continue to grow as more tests are tested. On Friday, the government approved regular comprehensive testing in primary and secondary schools. Companies that also need to test unvaccinated workers regularly once a week from Monday are undergoing testing.
The war means there is a need to focus on the hospital and prevent it, there was an epidemic in the last wave of time when some hospitals were overwhelmed and could not accept more patients. “We will not solve this in any other way than to create a reserve in hospitals in advance so that we are ready,” Válek told ČTK. “The Minister of Health must do so by ordering restrictions on all services that can be postponed,” he added. According to Válka, the hospital should have reserves for both covid patients and unforeseeable acute cases. The ministry, together with health insurance companies, should also guarantee hospitals that they will not be sanctioned for postponing part of their care. Patients should then be promised that when the situation improves, insurance companies will increase hospital reimbursements so that healthcare facilities can catch up with deferred care.
“There is no reason to panic. We are ready to give the order to postpone elective care at the right time,” the Ministry of Health wrote on twitter. According to a spokesman for Köppl, however, this is not necessary now; in addition, the ministry directly manages only large teaching hospitals; it has no influence on regional or private ones. According to him, the hospital’s capacity is monitored by the national inpatient care dispatching center, and no facility has yet approached it with a request to transfer the patient.
In addition, there is a war to increase the administration of monoclonal antibodies that protect the infected person from severe disease. However, it must be given at an early stage of the disease. The patient can receive it in about 80 hospitals that have an emergency admission, upon request from a general practitioner or specialist. “It should be extended to all medical facilities, where it is only possible. It is not about the number, but also about the density of the network, which must be high in all regions,” he only stressed. According to him, outpatient doctors should also be given clear instructions on how to proceed in the case of an infected patient who would need these drugs.
According to the War, there is also a need to limit the amount of quarantine and its duration. People quarantine after contact with the infected. But if they have a negative test, according to the War, they do not need to be quarantined. “We need to test in a way that catches the positive, put it in isolation, but at the same time we didn’t have to quarantine everyone else,” he said. According to him, these measures will allow schools and workplaces to continue to operate.
Later in a press conference asking if he would be in favor of recognizing negative PCR tests as cover certificates, he added: “Yes, I will want them to be the main tool.” The government has decided this week that the tests will not be recognized as a cover certificate from Monday, with some exceptions.
Also when asked by Válek, he said that vaccination against covid-19, which was decided by Austria this week, is not on the agenda in the Czech Republic. “At this stage, pushing for mandatory vaccinations is irrelevant,” he said. According to him, it is necessary to vaccinate a booster dose of seniors and at-risk patients. Válek does not count on the long-term strategy of the lockdown now introduced by Austria. He would like to present the strategy in the near future.
