The Russians were warned about the shortage of places in hotels in the resort of the rich: Russia: Travel: Lenta.ru
Russian tourists have been warned of an impending shortage of hotel beds in the Maldives during the New Year period. This is reported on website Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
According to tour operators, the Maldives, considered a resort for the wealthy, is one of the most sought-after New Year’s holiday destinations among Russian tourists. It is noted that from January 1 to November 9, 194.5 thousand domestic travelers visited the Maldives, which is 385.3 percent more than in 2020. In terms of tourist flow, Russia ranks second.
It is reported that in many accommodation facilities it is no longer possible to find vacant rooms. “It is almost impossible to confirm options with good good use-quality for families with children for a year or for February. For those who want to go to the Maldives for a villa of interest, a reservation must be made at least 5-6 months prior to arrival, ”the tour operators say.
They also warned that due to the growing tourist flow to the Maldives, they are in charge of problems with the transfer to the islands from Male International Airport. Transportation of tourists by seaplanes is carried out exclusively in the daytime, namely from 9 am to 2 pm, travelers have to either wait for their turn at a crowded airport, or choose another type of transfer.
Earlier in November, it was reported that Russians are massively interested in another popular beach country – Egypt. Thus, the demand for a trip on New Year’s Eve has grown sharply after a long weekend in November and, according to forecasts of the expert industry, may reach a dock level.
