The Christmas of San Marino
The 2021/2022 edition of the Christmas of Wonders of the Republic of San Marino will open on November 27th with the traditional cutting of the ribbon and the lighting of the lights in the historic center. It will be “A fantastic work” as the claim conceived by the Artistic Director of the event, Andrea Prada of Euforika, tells us, the company chosen by the Secretariat of State for Tourism for the organization of the 19th edition of the most important and prestigious event of the tourist season winter. There are 13 locations in the historic center that will be set up with installations, interactive works, entertainment spaces, markets and event areas. We also tried to activate areas that in the past had not been cared for and to create attractions for the whole family. Many appointments are work-in-progress and other collateral events, as well as the New Year’s event will be presented with greater punctuality in the coming days. In addition, parades and itinerant musical shows have been organized which will revive the districts on particular days.
Campo Bruno Reffi will host an enchanted forest inhabited by curious and particular characters, over a hundred trees will give life to a botanical garden in which families and children can have fun. Campo Bruno Reffi will also host a cartoon-like nativity scene carved in wood.
An installation by Maestro Lunati (scenographer of the Dolce & Gabbana shows among others) will “break” Piazza della Libertà. From the ground will emerge works of art that will reach a height of over 3 meters and will characterize the main square. Dedicated projections and lighting will illuminate Piazza della Libertà and its buildings. The Piazzale della Pieve will host a bright comet over 12 meters long. The Ice Piste is back in Cava dei Balestrieri for the fun of the whole family. The Pista del Ghiaccio will also host some themed shows. Along Via Donna Felicissima, in addition to traditional markets, pyramids of giant Christmas balls (over 4 meters) will be installed.
Filippo Francini (Director of the Tourism and Culture Department): “The Christmas of Wonders remains one of the top events in our tourist offer, which is why, despite the problems relating to the health emergency and the difficulties in finding suppliers, we wanted to devote extensive efforts to its organization. As is now known, the Secretariat of State has entrusted the 2021/2022 edition of the Christmas of Wonders to Euforika and the Artistic Director Andrea Prada, Metalux is the supplier of the lights and Evolvency will take care of their communication. The Christmas markets were managed directly by the Tourist Office with the collaboration of the trade associations. Compared to past seasons, the budget is significantly reduced while pursuing the objective of not the level of attractions, events and installations and increasing the number of spaces and areas of the historic center involved in the event “
Andrea Prada (Artistic Director Euforika): “We know the value that the Republic of San Marino entrusts to the Christmas of Wonders project. The effort of our company was significant given the size of the event and the limited time available. Despite this and despite still existing work-in-progress situations, we have the aim of striving for constant improvement to achieve a result and to deliver events, shows, installations and attractions to the level of expectations to the Secretariat of State that entrusted us with the project. . The concept we wanted to develop is the work of art in San Marino, a large container of fantastic works. Hence the claim of this year’s edition: A fantastic work! “.
Franca Rastelli (Marketing Tourist Office): “The Tourist Office immediately collaborated with the Secretariat of State and with all the entities involved in the project. A project in line with the value in tourism that we attribute to Christmas events. The Tourist Office is directly involved in the assignment of the huts of the markets which, as every year, will be located in Via Donna Felicissima and Via Eugippo. Most of the huts (17 out of 32) have been entrusted thanks to the collaboration with the trade associations, Ola, Unas, Usc and Usot while the preparation and decorations of the same will be taken care of by the Centro Foundation too. Our Office will also take care of some collateral events, the first we intend to present is Bricks on the Titan, an exhibition of collections and original works made with LEGO bricks that will be held at the Kursaal and which will be open and can be visited for free on 4 and December 5 “.
Marta Fabbri (Marlù Gioielli): “Marlù renews its partnership with the Christmas of Wonders – A fantastic work. We do this by expressing our bond with the territory. We bring the #MarluRicaricAmore solidarity project to the Titan. Its symbol is a large two-meter tall Cupid made by the artist Lorenzo Lunati. Cupid will teach children how to play with a bow and arrow. On 4, 11, 18, 26 December and 1 January from 16.00 to 19.00,
thanks to the help of the I Lunghi Archi Association and the San Marino Archery Federation, they will discover a beautiful sport. Each of their centers will serve to increase the collection of funds to donate to the Department of Pediatrics of the State Hospital of San Marino a device to supply O2 at high flows, for the respiratory diseases of the little ones. Thus it will no longer be necessary to transfer them to hospitals outside the Republic ”.
Francesca Luppi (Evolvency): “Our company has accepted the challenge proposed by the Secretariat of State with a great honor. We will take care of following the communication of the Christmas of Wonders and together with the Creative Director Andrea Prada and the Secretariat of State we have worked to give an identity to the project trying to communicate the event in the best possible way with a direct and engaging language. We took care of the creation of the poster and the visual and a first video teaser. In the next few days we will work on other video spots and we will follow the entire event to communicate to everyone the atmosphere that will be breathed in San Marino. Obviously, our productions will serve as the contents of an important web, social and offline campaign targeting families and which will start today “.
