Taxi drivers are negotiating a tariff increase with the Budapest city administration
Taxi drivers want a fare increase, which has been talked about before, when fuel prices have plummeted. Taxi drivers want a 30 percent increase, the Chamber would only go into 18, writes a Lining.
Zoltán Metál, President of the National Taxi Association Infostart He said there could be several reasons for raising tariffs:
“We last raised three years ago, a cost we encountered that affected all businesses very deeply. We go to a car service many times more than an average car, the overhead of the services changes a lot, as does the price of the parts, ”explained Metál, who says that they are paid a“ criminal duty ”and the increase in the price of fuel is a serious problem.
“Several numbers have appeared in the press in recent weeks, I have spoken on behalf of the taxi association of 30 per cent, and the chamber has put on the table a table amounting to 18 question marks on the aforementioned costs as before.”
Zoltán Metál added that they are constantly negotiating with the city of Budapest in connection with the tariff increase:
“We met with the leaders of Budapest in the first round, we stayed in setting up two working groups:
- one deals exclusively with the tariff, what would be the ideal tariff that the capital would accept and is good for us,
- and the other is a service working group on how we can change or improve the service, or what kind of service the capital can provide us with.
These working groups will be up and running in late November and early December, ”said Metál.
