“In the bicentenary of the spread of homeopathy in Italy, a specific conference will be the role of Melchiorre, the economist philosopher from Teramo who spent part of his life in the Republic of San Marino and to whom the Republic dedicated a monument in 1935.

It is precisely to Delfico – reads a note -, an authoritative member of the top body of the Academy of Sciences of Naples, that – as he admits in one of his writings contained in an as yet unpublished archival collection – the decisive act of impulse for the translation into Italian, entrusted to the partner Alberto De Schoemberg, of Hahnemann’s works donated in 1821 by the Baron General von Köller to the prestigious association.

Having become, as he writes, “Annemaniano di cuore”, so much so as to entrust his nephew Orazio Delfico to homeopathic treatments, the illuminist from Abruzzo will be an authoritative reference for the fellow countryman Francesco Romani, considered the head of the homeopathy school in Naples, and for a substantial series of talented doctors devoted to the new therapeutic method, including the Umbrian Francesco Taliani and the Tuscan Vincenzo Belluomini, among the first to practice homeopathy in Great Britain.

Among them also the doctor Plauto Dal Monte who worked in the Republic of San Marino and whose letters are preserved.

In the name of Delfico, considered a forerunner and a fundamental supporter of homeopathy, will be held in San Marino on November 27, at 3 pm at the Titano Theater, a conference that does not intend to discuss therapy, but to remember a historical event that has had global significance.

On the occasion, the stamp that the Philatelic and Numismatic Office has dedicated to the bicentenary will also be presented “.
