Salzburg bull canceled again – SALZBURG24
As in the previous season, the state’s largest indoor soccer tournament was canceled due to the corona pandemic.
The organizer Leopoldskron-Moos spared no effort or expense to make the 40th anniversary a special one. Organizer Wolfgang Mayer and his team worked on the new concept for almost nine months.
40th anniversary is postponed
With the help of the city and the state of Salzburg, sponsorship funds of around 100,000 were raised to help relocate the Alpenstrasse to the Salzburgarena. On Friday, three days before the nationwide lockdown in Austria, Mayer canceled the event.
“It’s a shame, but we can’t play the tournament this year either,” said Mayer in an interview with SALZBURG24.
Also no Salzburg bull this year
Since popular sport in Salzburg could be canceled until shortly before Christmas, the organizer lacks planning security. “We really tried hard and really wanted to hold the anniversary. But it just doesn’t work,” complained Mayer.
Preparations for the Salzburg Bull 2023 will start in January.
