Russian hero paid for adherence to principles

Fans of Denis Boytsov, a world-famous former boxer, master of sports of international class, whose career and happy future were crossed out on May 3, 2015, turned to the editorial office of MN.

On that day, the 29-year-old Boytsov was found on the rails of the Berlin metro by a train driver who only miraculously managed to slow down and not run over a person who was lying unconscious.

I PASSED BY ITSELF

German police later investigated. It turned out that Boytsov had problems with the boxing club: when he moved to a new one, the promoter of the old one seemed to threaten him. He also performed, as if in his former club, to participate in fights without rules, but he refused. Proposed contractual fights, in which in the final it was necessary to give the victory to the opponent … But Boytsov, according to the testimony of his teammates, rejected such proposals with indignation, declares that “I have been in boxing since I was four and I strive to become number one in the world”.

The guy was clearly of character, however, others do not achieve success in sports. Denis Boytsov was born and raised in Oryol in a large family, he has a sister and brother. He made his own way in life. By the age of 29, he had 130 fights, out of 115 he emerged victorious. This is a very high result. He was offered contracts by the leading clubs in Europe and America.

Until the fateful date of May 3, 2015, Boytsov really had chances to become number one in world boxing. Until now, the persons who caused serious harm to the health of the athlete and cut off a stellar career have not been identified. The medical examination, meanwhile, found that the guy received at least eight blows to the head with reinforcement bars. They threw him on the rails to die, apparently in the hope that he would die under the wheels.

MODEST PEOPLE! WILL NOT FORGIVE

Denis spent the next six years in rehabilitation clinics in Germany. The worst thing is that he lost the ability not only to walk, but also to speak. Even the swallowing reflex was disturbed – a catheter was connected so that the weakening body could receive nutrition.

– Denis’s family hoped that German medicine would be able to put him on his feet. Unfortunately, it did not happen. A month and a half ago, his parents transported him from Germany to his native Oryol, home, – the athlete’s fans told “MN”. – The Boytsovs are an ordinary family from the Russian hinterland. Sincere, kind, they are confident that with the care and love of their hearts they will be able to return their son and brother to a full life. We would like to draw the attention of the sports community, public figures – to remind about Denis. Any effective help will not hurt. For example, specialists of the required profile, namely, restorative medicine, who were able to do what their German colleagues failed to do. We know for sure that there are such professionals in our wonderful country.

Fans emphasize that Denis was and remains a patriot of Russia. He refused to obtain German citizenship, although he was repeatedly offered. He always proudly declares that he is a Russian athlete. It is for this that the guy is respected, and he is still an example of fortitude for many, especially for the young. “We want to say:“ Fighter, don’t give up, fight, we are with you! “- summed up the admirers.

THE WIFE HAS NOT ENDED THE DIFFICULTIES?

Denis Boytsov is officially married. Wife Olga is also from Orel. A beauty with a model appearance participated in various beauty contests. They met in the company when both were 18. They quickly got married, and in Germany, where they signed a contract with him, the boxer left with his wife’s friends. We have lived abroad since 2005. According to the fans, although Olga did not work (Denis was the breadwinner in the family), she supported her husband, was present at all his fights.

At the time of the tragedy on May 3, 2015, the couple was expecting a child, daughter Angelina was born in the summer, when Boytsov was already in the clinic in a serious condition.

Olga now lives in Moscow. Together with his sister, he is engaged in the design of children’s clothing. The social networks of the former model are not full of shots at the bedside of a sick husband, pictures with red carpet, vacations in Dubai, in companies with the rich and famous …

We called Olga to find out: does she really, as her husband’s fans say, intend to dissolve her marriage in the near future? However, the woman categorically refused to talk about her personal life. “The situation concerns only the two of us and no one else. Good luck! “- she said categorically.

Psychologist Olga Gribova is in no hurry to condemn the young woman: “Should I stay with my husband? Out of a sense of duty? She swore to him in love before the altar, to be together forever – yes. But then he was healthy. Now the situation has changed. When the world around us changes, so do we. If you yourself were in the situation of the hero of the material or his wife, it is not known what your own choice would be. After all, decisions are made in the moment. The attitude of pity destroys. It is difficult for a man himself to accept that a woman is next to him, for example, out of pity. Then it’s better to let each other go. He may meet another who will love him for who he is. There are such stories. And his wife, of course, will have her own life. As they say, do not judge … “
