Russia to supply two Mi-171A2 helicopters to Bangladesh in 2023 – Economy and business
MOSCOW, November 19. / TASS /. In 2023, the Russian Federation will supply Bangladesh with two newest multi-purpose heavy-class Mi-171A2 helicopters. This was reported to reporters on Friday in the press service of the Russian Helicopters holding of the Rostec state corporation.
“The signed contract is a logical continuation of our active work to promote civilian helicopter technology abroad.” – quotes the press service of the words of the general director of the holding Andrei Boginsky.
The helicopter was also presented at the recently concluded Dubai Airshow 2021 international air show, within the framework of which a contract was signed for the supply of two Mi-171A2s to Peru.
The helicopter received certification in Russia in 2017. The first foreign operators of the Mi-171A2 were Kazakhstan and India. The helicopter type certificate has also been validated by the aviation authorities of Colombia and South Korea. In addition, the Mi-171A2 certificate is planned to be validated in China, Brazil, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
The Mi-171A2 is equipped with VK-2500PS-03 engines with a digital control system, an upgraded complex of flight-navigation and radio communication equipment. The helicopter can be operated in mountainous regions and areas with hot climates. Thanks to a more efficient X-shaped tail rotor, a new main rotor with composite blades, an improved aerodynamic profile, the cruising and maximum speed of the Mi-171A2 relative to the serially produced Mi-8/17 helicopters increased by 10%, and the carrying capacity by 25% (up to 4 tons of cargo inside the cargo compartment or up to 5 tons on the external sling).
