“We start from afar,” underlines Stéphane Friant, responsible for the Espace du Palais in Rouen, for the Redevco company. When we took over the center, all that was left was Fnac and the food area [actuellement Utile, NDLR]. “
As a reminder, Redevco launched a major work campaign to renovate the Espace du Palais between 2017 and 2019. “Seven cells were reactive,” indicates Cécile Pouzadoux, director of the Redevco portfolio in France. We are particularly pleased with the recent arrivals of Animalis and Abystyle. “
These new brands are added to the Orange, American Vintage, King Jouet, Søstrene Grene and Slow concept stores. “We also had the arrival of BChef to complete our catering space,” recalls Stéphane Friant. We are starting to have a complementary and interesting offer. “
In all, 15 commercial cells are currently occupied. “We already have a great tool with great brands that have been able to be resilient and resist the health crisis,” says Cécile Pouzadoux. And it’s not over.
Three new brands
The departmental commercial development commission has validated, on September 17, 2021, the extension of the commercial space of the Espace du Palais by 824 m2. “It will not be the creation of spaces but the reactivation of currently closed commercial units,” indicates Cécile Pouzadoux. Three shops, one located near Fnac, and two others near the exterior, one overlooking rue de Saint-Lô and the restaurant area and the other near American Vintage.
These three new businesses will arrive respectively 373 m2, 298 meters2 and 103 m2. “We want to strengthen our offer with national and international players,” breathes Stéphane Friant, who cannot reveal for the time being the brands that are setting up there. The only information: there will most certainly be a home equipment sign.
Pop-up shops for local talent
In parallel, three kiosks of 50 m2 will open to offer ephemeral shops to local players, “which will function with the seasons”. In all, around nine jobs are to be created with these six new stores.
Espace du Palais hopes to finalize this new commercial offer in 2022, bringing the centre’s total sales area to 5,855 m2. “Thus, the shopping center will now be complete. All of our work will be completed. And we will be the happiest donors, ”smiles Cécile Pouzadoux.
