Pier Marino Canti is the new secretary of the Cdls Pensioners Federation
Change at the top of the National Pensioners Federation of the CDLS: after 12 years Armando Stacchini leaves the helm to Pier Marino Canti. The new secretary was unanimously elected during the first meeting of the board of directors after the 8th Congress of the FNPS-CDLS. As soon as appointed, the secretary Pier Marino Canti has indicators of the main commitments put in black and white in the final motion of the congress, starting with the strengthening of welfare for the elderly: “We fully agree with the proposal launched by the CDLS to create a specific fund to support non self-sufficient pensioners, an instrument financed with a modest contribution from all pensions. Fund that must have legislative legitimacy and be controlled by the social partners “. With regard to the pension reform, the new secretary Canti points out: “The principle that the pension reform must be balanced, shared and sustainable, guaranteeing a decent pension, which has often proved to be an economic resource from which the younger generations have drawn, must be reiterated, and the pension treatment must be related to the working and salary path of the worker and the worker “. The pensioners of the CDLS also “strongly reject the hypothesis of linking the social security treatment paid to the income indicators eventually introduced, as well as stigmatizing any reform proposal that promotes the introduction of extraordinary taxation on assets, both movable and real estate.” Another proposal is that of creating a “Help desk for listening”, because, explains the new secretary FNPS-CDLS, “loneliness and social abandonment are the main enemies of the elderly population, real diseases that aggravate any clinical situation pre-existing “. For this it is necessary “a synergy between public and private, involving public welfare associations and those of the voluntary sector to create a real help desk available to all lonely people in difficulty”. The commitment also continues to bring the elderly population closer to the use of new technologies through “a digital literacy campaign aimed at all citizens, paying particular attention to the elderly population”. The work of the board, coordinated by the president of the 8th Congress Giovanni Giardi, ended with the election of the new Federation Secretariat, which is composed as follows: Pier Marino Canti (Secretary), Armando Stacchini, Giordano Giovagnoli, Marinella Bacciocchi, Sandro Serra, Felice Pavone, Marco Tura.
