Nürnberg wins and no goals at Hannover 96
E.rik Shuranov finished the little negative run of 1. FC Nürnberg. At SV Sandhausen, the Franks came to a 2-1 (0-0) success on Friday in stoppage time. Immanuel Höhn put SVS in the front (67th), before Nuremberg turned the game around thanks to goals from Fabian Nürnberger (83rd) and Shuranov (90th + 3).
Robert Klauss, coach of 1. FC Nürnberg, showed a lucky hand with his substitutions. “We can thank our players who came from the bench,” commented the 36-year-old. “We know we have a good squad. The guys who came in made the difference. ”With the win, Nürnberg is in fourth place. Sandhausen missed temporarily leaving the relegation place and is still waiting for the first home win of the season.
The home side had better opportunities in the first half. Janik Bachmann failed from a suspicious position on Christian Mathenia (15th), and even after a long-range shot by Alexander Esswein, the goalkeeper of 1. FC Nürnberg held up confidently (25th).
After the break, both teams became more dangerous. Mats Möller Daehli was still unlucky with his deals for the guests (53rd / 62nd). On the opposite side, Höhn, the traffic from a distance, does better. The equalizer from Nürnberger was also worth seeing. In stoppage time Shuranov kept the overview and scored to win.
No goals in Hanover
Hannover 96 blocked the way to the top of the table for SC Paderborn. Both teams deliver a very promising 0-0 on Friday evening. For Die Paderborn, a series of five away wins in a row ended in front of 10,400 spectators. In the event of further success, the third place in the table would have overtaken the top duo FC St. Pauli and Jahn Regensburg for the time being. Hanover’s Julian Börner saw the red card in the 67th minute because of an emergency brake.
SC Paderborn was still very lucky in the first half. Because the Lower Saxony shows a very committed and convincing performance after six league games without a win. The drawback was once again the exploitation of the chances: Sebastian Kerk (17th), Maximilian Beier (29th) and Sebastian Stolze (29th) missed three good opportunities in the first half hour.
Paderborn got a lot better after the break. Now Dennis Srbeny alone in front of the goal (58th) and two times Julian Justvan with a shot from the post (69th / 76th) give several great chances for the guests. But 96 defended themselves against the looming defeat and hit the crossbar again with a header from Hendrik Weydandt (73rd). “In the situation we are currently in, we played a good home game,” said Börner after the game on Sky.
