Nobody takes out the bins and people are starting to complain – eXtra.cz
Prague
Prague has problems with garbage. Overcrowded baskets are increasingly being seen at public transport stops or in public places. The problem is mainly the reduction of the budget of the Technical Administration of Roads, on the basis of which the company reduces the frequency of waste export. But the Prague leadership is still not doing anything about it.
More and more people in Prague are complaining about bins that are literally overflowing with waste. Representatives of the city districts of Alexander Udženija (ODS) or Zdeněk Zajíček (ODS) have also pointed out the situation in recent days. The thorn in the side of Prague residents is the fact that the Technical Communications Administration (TSK) does not export garbage as often as it should.
TSK has a reduced budget by 40 percent since 2018. As a result, the company had to reduce the frequency of waste collection. However, as the overcrowded baskets show, reducing the budget was not a sensible step.
The baskets overflow all weekend
The worst situation is in Prague 7, where waste is exported five times a week. You can see overcrowded baskets, especially inthe bus stops at Nádraží Holešovice, Vltavská, Milady Horáková, U Výstaviště, Dukelských Hrdinů, Strossmayer to us and many other places.
In Prague 6, the frequency of exports is rare from three times (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) to twice (without Friday) per week. It usually happens that baskets overflow with garbage at the beginning of the weekend. At the same time, the frequency will be reduced in other areas as well.
The technical administration of roads, ie the export of waste, falls under the responsibility Representative of the Capital City of Prague and Deputy Mayor for Transport Adam Scheinherr (Prague to himself). The editors also contacted him to ask if the situation was going to do anything. But no answers yet.
