Kabulov said Russia is ready to participate in commercial projects in Afghanistan – Economy and business
MOSCOW, November 19. / TASS /. Russia has no plans to “lay eyes” on the fossil resources of Afghanistan, but has the opportunity to participate in some projects in this country on a commercial basis. This was announced on Friday by the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan, director of the Second Department of Asia of the Foreign Ministry Zamir Kabulov in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24“.
“Russia has no plans to put on some kind of underground wealth of Afghanistan. A number of projects, mainly on a commercial basis,” Kabulov said.
At the same time, a number of neighboring states have their own interests in Afghanistan, Kabulov recalled. “The same TAPI gas pipeline [строящийся газопровод Туркмения – Афганистан – Пакистан – Индия], electrification, railway “, – added the diplomat.
“Problems on these issues will be removed – we will be happy for ourselves and for the Afghan people,” the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department summed up.
Kabulov noted that Russia is interested in an independent and self-sufficient government in Kabul, as well as in a friendly attitude towards Moscow. “We need power, don’t consider it pompous, independent, self-sufficient to a certain extent, friendly in Russia,” Kabulov said.
Risk of currency exchange in Afghanistan
Kabulov notes that the national currency of Afghanistan – Afghani – is depreciating daily due to the US freezing of the country’s financial assets.
“Now our western colleagues need to somehow resolve this issue. [Афгани] adheres to <…>, I am not entirely the rationality of such a step, because if the Afghani collapses completely, it will be from 80 to 95 Afghani [снизился] for one just yesterday. Money depreciates if it is not in circulation, “the diplomat said.
Kabulov drew attention to the fact that there is now a shortage of cash in Afghanistan. “And not only US dollars, but also the Afghan national Afghan country. There is not enough real Afghani,” he said.
