Jacques and Gabriella of Monaco, stars of Monaco’s national day
This Friday is a very special day for the principality, since Monaco celebrates its national day. A long-awaited event, which brings together a crowd of Monegasques each year who come to take part in the festivities. Indeed, November 19 is Saint Rainier’s Day, set up in honor of Prince Albert II’s father, Rainier III. The custom wants it to change the date with each new sovereign, according to his first name. But Albert of Monaco did not wish to modify the date erected in 1949 during the reign of his father, as well as his immense respect for the latter. The day is therefore punctuated by a military parade, several shows, presentation of medals and distinctions, as well as fireworks. Without forgetting the greeting of the main family, posted on the balcony of the palace, which then goes down to attend the traditional mass which takes place in the cathedral, perched on the Rock.
Princess Charlene, absent from the event
On the balcony, Albert II surrounded by his two sisters, Princesses Caroline and Stéphanie. We also see the children of Princess Caroline: Charlotte Casiraghi place with her sons Raphael and Balthazar, her sister Alexandra of Hanover, her brother Pierre Casiraghi accompanied by his wife Beatrice Borromeo and their children, Stephano and Francesco, as well as Andrea Casiraghi , his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo and their three children Alexandre, India and Maximilian. The children of Princess Stephanie were also present. Louis Ducruet, his wife Marie as well as his sisters Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb did not fail to greet the crowd. But the stars of the day remain the twins of the princely couple, Jacques and Gabriella. They appeared alongside their father with moving placards adorned with drawings and messages for their mother: “We miss you mommy”, “We love you mommy”. As announced by the princely palace, Princess Charlene could not be present on the Rock on November 19, for health reasons. But she wanted to pay tribute to the principality on this day of celebration, through a video posted on her Instagram account in which we discover the Monegasque flag fluttering in the wind, with the national anthem in the background.
