According to the American diplomat, Hungary and Debrecen are excellent places to invest – with video
Debrecen – The relations between the American and Hungarian economies are strong, Hungary is a prime place for businesses – said Marc Dillard, who also talks about the climate crisis and China.
Marc Dillard, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, visited Debrecen and spoke about economic and climate protection issues in the Debrecen Television Public Affairs program.
The diplomat visited the Anglo-American Institute at the University of Debrecen, met with the mayor, and visited Atomki, where he discussed research collaborations, including in the field of climate sciences.
Marc Dillard explained that the most important talks were about business cooperation, the current political situation and American-Hungarian relations, Debrecen may also be a party. the manager even had time to see the American speed skating team at the World Cup in Debrecen.
Climate change requires global cooperation
The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) recently concluded that the United States and China have pledged to work together to slow down climate change. The diplomat highlighted the Biden leadership’s priority on climate change. Ever since the president was elected, one of the U.S.’s goals has been to join the Paris Climate Agreement.
– We think this is important for the whole world. This joint statement, signed by the two countries, shows how serious and urgent this is. A few days ago, President Xin Qing and President Biden attended a summit to discuss climate change, among other things, Marc Dillard said.
He added that the US and China have a developed relationship, two countries that play a significant role in the world.
– Not only do we have to compete with each other, we have to work together. We know that there will be no solution to climate change if the countries of the world do not work together
The clerk pointed out.
He explained the U.S. is trying to take the lead in paying to set targets, such as reducing economic emissions to zero by 2050.
– As this is a long-term challenge, we also need to think about how to develop new technologies and how to involve people in these programs. As part of COP26, the U.S. supports U.S. companies investing in new technologies, advocating for a sustainable ocean economy and trying to help with a number of other issues, the diplomat explained.

the countries of the Earth also differ in size, level of development, economy, and place on the map, so they can all gain access to this global system differently.
Marc Dillard calls for transparency in Chinese business
Marc Dillard recently spoke at a forum, the U.S. worried about a lack of transparency in the deals in which China is involved. About this, the administrator said that China is seen as a major player globally, has a large economy, is well developed and well integrated into the global supply chain.
– China cooperates differently with different countries in the world. If there is an investment that is only with a commercial-based normal supply chain, these have been handled by China according to the rules agreed over the past seven years. These seven years were the most peaceful, prosperous period. There are many benefits to this system, but a part that does not comply with international rules, Marc Dillard said.
The diplomat cited the example of Montenegro, China has given a billion-dollar loan to the Montenegrin government, from which a road has been built that cannot fulfill its function. So now Montenegro has a financial burden that it cannot sustain after a project that does not serve their interests. Hungary must also take care of this, he called attention.
American and Hungarian relations are strong
This year marks the 100th anniversary of American-Hungarian diplomatic relations. According to Marc Dillard, the two countries have a lot in common, and these are based on common values: freedom and democracy.
“Tens of thousands of Hungarians have fled to the United States since the 1956 revolution, many have become part of American society, and millions of Americans say they are Hungarian in origin,” the attorney said.
Although Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has openly supported Donald Trump in his recent Americans, Marc Dillard believes the relationship between the two countries remains very close nonetheless.
– There is a diplomatic relationship, and it is no secret that the Biden and Orbán governments do not share the same views on all aspects, such as people-to-people and NATO relations.
He pointed out.
The diplomat has previously stated that Hungary is an excellent destination for businesses and a prime destination for businesses.
– Previously, I became a previous diplomat, I worked in a business school, I have an economic background. In this respect, I would say that Hungary is a good destination because it is a member of the European Union, centrally located, has access to EU markets, and supports businesses with a well-trained workforce, said Marc Dillard, who added that Debrecen would be happy to choose the investor.
The clerk also talked about the epidemic. He said 16 percent of people in the U.S. are vaccinated, but they are continuing the vaccination program nationally and at the state level, but the U.S. is also pointing out that the global epidemic calls for a global solution.
– We have given 200 million vaccines to other countries so far. Because of the variants, a single vaccine is not enough, we have to respond to these variants, the diplomat said.
Marc Dillard stressed he also encourages those who are not yet vaccinated to do so as soon as possible.
