Covid: Towards the new green pass, the Austria – World model is being discussed
The fourth wave is scary and pressures multiply in Italy by one strengthening of the Green pass on the model ofAustria, which in the meantime has decided the general lockdown for 20 days and has announced the vaccination obligation from 1 February. A solution advocated by the president of Confindustria Bonomi, while the Undersecretary Costa opens to extend it ‘to categories in contact with the public’. A hypothesis that asks to consider also the president of the ISS Locatelli for police forces, public employees and professors. In addition, the idea is put forward of reducing the interval for the third dose to 5 months.
Europe falls back into the nightmare of the lockdown – From Monday, theAustria it will be the first country to reintroduce confinement for all, a week after it has imposed on the unvaccinated. And from February 1st, Vienna will also lead the way for the generalized requirement of immunization against Covid-19, provided only in Indonesia – where offenders are fined and there is a risk of not being treated in the event of contagion -, in the islands of Micronesia and in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as in the Vatican. “Only we will get out of the vicious circle,” explained the governor of the Land of Tyrol, Gunther Platter.
The new squeeze is pushed by the spread of the virus. Yesterday Austria set a new record of daily infections of over 15 thousand. “Despite months of effort, we have not been able to get enough people to get vaccinated,” lamented the eraser Alexander Schallenberg. “There are too many political forces that are rowing against it,” he added, speaking of an “attack on the health system”. In the country with the lowest vaccination rate in Western Europe, the return to lockdown is expected to last until 12 December, although the situation will be re-evaluated after 10 days. You can only leave the house for work, reasons of necessity and for physical activity. Smart working is also encouraged, while schools will remain open, with students wearing a mask. Should the epidemiological situation improve, the restrictions would remain only for diehard no vax.
In the wake of Austria, even the most affected Lander of the Germany they prepare to return to lockdown. Starting from Bavaria, which yesterday also announced the cancellation of all the famous Christmas markets and the closure of bars, discos and nightclubs until mid-December, together with confinement in the areas most at risk, i.e. those with an incidence of over a thousand cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The rules for obtaining the Green pass are also stricter, which will now be granted according to the formula of 2G (‘geimpft’ and ‘genesen’, i.e. immunized and cured). But even these categories will be required to have the buffer to participate in mass events (the so-called 2G plus). Saxony also goes towards the same restrictions. The vaccination obligation for health personnel has also been decided. “We are a phase in which no Minister of Health should be nothing”, commented the German Jans Spahn. The rules for tourists are also stricter: those arriving from countries deemed at risk will have a 10-day quarantine, reduced to 5 with a negative buffer.
The virus however rears its head across Europe, with Ireland, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg and the Baltic states in dark red in the Covid risk map drawn from Brussels. Slovakia will follow neighboring Czech Republic on lockdown for unvaccinated. Even more dramatic is the situation in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, where vaccination rates are lower. Hungary today set the record for daily infections since the beginning of the pandemic (11,289), while in Russia there was a new peak of daily victims (1,254).
