There will be an exhibition from Hrabal’s cottage, the councilors have been approved to buy it for 9.9 million
The cottage appeared in the real estate agency’s offer in the summer, the seller demanded 11.9 million crowns for it. Nabdka attracted both the region and the Ministry of Culture. After an excellent meeting, the governor of the cottage, where Hrabal stayed and created, wants to acquire into his property and build an external exhibition reminiscent of the writer’s life, creation and relationship to the recreational settlements of Kersko.
We consider the price of the building to be de facto unthinkable, given its uniqueness. The eventual loss of this historical environment means the loss of a unique, unique value, said the Regional Councilor for Culture Vclav venda (Allies).
The Governor’s Office submitted a detailed assessment of the condition of the monuments at the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology, Václav Girs, who, according to venda, confirmed that the cultural and historical value of the building is extremely significant. According to the councilor, this fact is also confirmed by the expert opinion of the historian and expert Miloslav Vlk, according to whom the cultural-historical value of the building many times exceeds the value of the building.
The council approved the eventual acquisition of property shines to the farms of the Elbe Museum, the purpose of which is to make the cottage accessible to the public. The preparation of the exposition dedicated to Hrabal and the subsequent operation should be carried out on behalf of the Polabsk Museum and the Ministry of Culture of the National Literature Memorial. The region and the ministry committed it to it in a memorandum of cooperation.
Kersko is a bite of the village of Hradiko in the Nymburk region. A neighbor from the cottages of the Kersko settlement was Hrabal’s model for the book Festivals of Snowdrops, according to which the film of the same name by director South Menzel was made. The writer bought the cottage in 1965. Bezdtn Hrabal left the cottage to a neighbor.
