After a one-year break, the show jumping Prague Playoffs returned to Prague. From Thursday to Sunday, O2 presents the world’s best riders, including members of the Czech team from the Tokyo Olympic Games. In addition to fights for the main titles, spectators will also see demonstrations of a number of other equestrian disciplines.

“From the beginning, when we were given the opportunity to organize this event, we focused on the fact that we want to expand it a bit, it means not only a competition program, but we want to make it interesting for all spectators, for the whole family,” says the director of this year’s script organizing committee Jan Andrlík.

During the afternoon exhibitions, spectators can look forward to, for example, a quad race or horseball, which is a century-old game based on a combination of the rules of horse polo, basketball and rugby.
The daily program is always closed by the main category races. However, the very first competition started on Thursday after 2 p.m.
“We start the program of the event with lower competitions, that is, a framework competition, and then in the evening we can see the quarterfinals of the Global Champions League team competition. It is in this competition that the Prague Lions, which is our team, will take part and will fight to advance to the semifinals, which will be on Friday, “adds Jan Andrlík, who further pointed out that even after a challenging Olympic season, Prague has the biggest name contemporary parkour.

Tím je úřadující olympijský šampion Brit Ben Maher, který stále vzpomíná na své pražské vítězství z roku 2019: „Byla tu neuvěřitelná atmosféra. Chvíli jsem se dokonce cítil jako rocková hvězda. Samozřejmě to bylo ještě před covidem, ale i tak věřím, že nás diváci přijdou znovu podpořit, abychom předvedli to nejlepší. A tím myslím koně i samotné jezdce.“
I osmatřicetiletý Maher bere účast ve finále parkurové série Global Champions jako jasnou záležitost.
„Jsme už na konci dlouhé a náročné sezony. Přesto jsem ale nad účastí ani chvíli neváhal. Myslím, že lidé tu našemu sportu rozumí a dokáží ocenit kvalitní výkony. Navíc jsem si Prahu opravdu zamiloval. A i to je jeden z důvodů, proč se sem tak rád vracím,“ dodává jedna z největších hvězd současného parkuru Brit Ben Maher, který bude své vítězství mezi jednotlivci obhajovat v sobotu od 20 hodin.
