Munich (dpa / lby) – After a two-week international break, the Bundesliga starts its year-end spurt with the neighborhood duel between FC Augsburg and FC Bayern Munich. At the start of the 12th matchday, Bayern could expand their table lead today (8.30 p.m.) with an away win to seven points.
The people of Munich are further weakened by corona cases. “The topic annoys everyone,” said coach Julian Nagelsmann. Defenders Niklas Süle and Josip Stanisic in the Munich squad are currently infected with the virus and are in quarantine at home.
The Augsburgers want to be “a disgusting opponent” for the favored Bavarians, as coach Markus Weinzierl announced. Of the last 20 league games against the record champions, the FCA could only win two – but both with Weinzierl as coach on the bench.
