“For the third consecutive term, Elio Pozzi was re-elected to the position of Signatory of the FUPS.
The confirmation took place this morning during the first meeting of the FUPS Steering Committee elected at the end of the 12th Federation Congress held on 23 October at the Palace Hotel in Serravalle.
The meeting was also an opportunity to greet and congratulate the new members of the Executive, in which there was a significant renewal and also a certain “rejuvenation”; the presence of women is always very large, 8 out of 18 members, as is now the tradition of the Federation.
The Directive reiterated the need for reforms, starting with pension reforms, which must necessarily be addressed jointly and within a single general coordination table.
Central are the tax reform to complete and implement the 2013 law, the introduction of the IGC (San Marino VAT), the agreement to join the European Union, a property tax that affects large concentrations of capital to find new resources. for the state, maximum protection of pension funds. Above all is the terrible banking crisis that has caused an enormous state debt, from which one cannot think of simply going out with the continuous refinancing of the same debt.
The investigations of the Judiciary are inserted in this very complicated context, towards which the FUPS Law expresses its full ascertainment, called to ascertain and support those responsible for the malfeasance events that took place in San Marino.
An urgent appeal is addressed to the political authorities and the ISS to find solutions to the difficult state of San Marino healthcare: in particular, basic medicine must return to being functional and efficient, and give all the answers in terms of medical assistance and prevention to protection of pensioners and all citizens.
An alarm has been raised about the announced increase in utility tariffs, which risks producing heavy negative repercussions on the economic conditions of pensioners with the lowest incomes, with the possibility of creating a real “energy poverty”. FUPS asks that particular attention be paid to energy tariffs, in order to protect the most fragile social categories and in general the entire citizenship “.
