Miscellaneous – Justice | Vaucluse – War of the narcotics: ten arrests
The police struck hard, at the beginning of this week, within the framework of the war of the narcotics which oppose rival bands in Vaucluse, and more particularly in Cavaillon. The deal point of the city of Doctor Ayme has been the subject for several months of a fierce struggle between well-organized clans. A fight where all blows are allowed which leaves dead and wounded on the floor and rots the lives of the inhabitants of the city.
This Monday, therefore, nearly 150 police officers were mobilized to carry out ten arrests in total, in Avignon, Cavaillon and Entraigues. An operation linked by the judicial police on rogatory commission which required the assistance of the Raid, the BRI, and reinforcements from neighboring departments. It was thanks to intelligence and extensive surveillance that the police were able to identify the individuals concerned. The latter notably passed around several boxes serving as caches.
In the wake of the arrests, the police seized some 5 kilos of herbal cannabis and 2 kilos of resin. They also discovered in these boxes bulletproof vests, ammunition of various calibers, including munitions of war, electronic tracking or jamming hardware as well as several stolen vehicles. Proof that the targeted clan was well structured and that the people arrested probably played a very important role.
Five of the individuals were indicted yesterday, the other five are expected to be brought before a judge today before likely detention.
