“It is essential to act on spending with innovative and fair reforms”
On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 November Libera organized a programmatic conference entitled “Let’s prepare the future together” during which workshops and round tables will be held on various themes dear to the party. To get some previews, we interviewed the director Luca Boschi.
What is the goal of this weekend’s keynote conference?
“The appointment on Friday and Saturday will see the conclusion of an important study and analysis that has seen our Party engaged in the last year in order to produce concrete proposals that can finally give our country a prospect of hope. and optimism: the document that will come out of our conference will present our country model. Model, which on fundamental issues for us such as those of culture, environment, rights, work and development is an alternative to that carried out by the current government “.
Speaking of the future, what are the most important challenges for San Marino to face?
“The Republic of San Marino is in a situation of difficulty that has not occurred since the post-war period. To get out of this delicate situation, the competence and the courage to take structural decisions are needed. debt public which must be sustainable in order to reach, therefore, the state budget which has a really worrying structural deficit and which must absolutely be rebalanced. Therefore it is essential to act on spending with innovative and fair reforms but also on revenue and therefore with the real challenge facing our country: it Development. The country system based on the three famous cornerstones (banking secrecy, corporate anonymity and tax differential) that raged until 2010 has blatantly failed and is absolutely anachronistic. Until now, however, no government and no majority have been able to replace it with a new development model. We will have to do this by always keeping in mind two of our indispensable bulwarks: respect for the environment and the continuous growth of civil rights “.
In words everyone supports the reforms but then when it is time to take the sums and get to the point of vetoes crossed. What can be the way out of the impasse?
“Libera came to the elections and subsequent consultations with a clear proposal: a Government of Purpose, with broad council support, which could obtain the reforms that are now unavoidable for the survival of our Republic. The forces that make up the current majority made a different choice by opting for a political government that was however “political”. These first two years of the legislature have amply demonstrated that the glue underlying the government agreement is not political choices but rather the pursuit of particular goals that are often unspeakable. On strategic issues, I don’t agree on anything. Indeed, in their own way, this too is a “purpose government”. Beyond the jokes, the impasse can only be overcome by starting a new phase such as yes put aside the vested interests and the ancient rusts and work on the solution of problems that we all know by now but that no one has yet had the courage to face with decision. Libera on Saturday evening will present its analyzes and proposals and is available to collaborate, without preclusions, with anyone who shares them “.
