Alceu Valença Agenda 7 Concerts in Portugal
Alceu Valença performs a solo in Portugal in 2022 with seven vocal and guitar concerts. The “Alceu Valença a Solo” tour will pass through six Portuguese cities and the first part will be in charge of Colombian-Mexican singer-songwriter Mari Segura.
One of the most renowned Brazilian singer-songwriters, with five decades of career, and a very strong legion of fans around the world, Alceu Valença, brings to Portuguese lands the show inspired by the series of acoustic albums released in 2021.
On stage, Alceu gives new timbres to hits like “Belle de Jour”, “Anunciação”, “Tropicana”, “Táxi Lunar”, “Coração Bobo” and recreates pearls from his repertoire “Marim dos Caetés”, “Ladeiras”, “ Papagaio do Futuro ”, as well as presenting two new songs of his authorship “ Era Verão” and “ Sem Pensar no Amanhã”. He also interprets themes by Luiz Gonzaga, such as “Pau-de-Arara”, “Sala de Reboco” and “Sabiá”.
As in the albums, the concert traces what Alceu calls a ‘cinematographic script’, where the artist travels through the always fertile soil of his creations. As there is no virus capable of stopping poetry, the songs intertwine in a conceptual and geographical journey of music and the identity of the singer and composer – from Recife to Olinda, from the rural to the sertão, passing through Rio, São Paulo, Minas, Brasília and Lisbon, among other cities that serve as permanent inspiration for the art of Alceu Valença.
Still in 2022, but in the summer, Alceu Valença will return to Europe, this time with his band, for concerts in Germany, Holland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
The shows start in January and pass through Coimbra, Ovar, Braga, Marinha Grande, Setúbal and Estoril.
Ensuring the first part will be young and inspiring artist Mari Segura to present her debut EP, “Piano, Piano”, which is due for release in January 2022. Her Latin influences together with an indie-folk vibe and pop, give rise to a unique sound in Spanish and English, and sometimes Portuguese and Italian. In 2020, it was something to talk about when it participated in the RTP contest “The Voice Portugal” and impressed the judges in its blind competition, having turned all four seats and conquered a fair place in the grand final.
