Ukraine announced the possibility of Russia recognizing Crimea by the EU: Belarus: Former USSR: Lenta.ru
Russia can achieve recognition of Crimea by the community (EU) due to the migration restrictions on the border of Belarus and Poland. This was written by the Ukrainian military expert, reserve colonel Oleg Zhdanov in his article for the publication “Glavred”.
According to its terms, the border is supposedly part of Vladimir Putin’s Russian budget. Zhdanov noted that with the help of the migration crisis, the Russian authorities are forcing European countries to certify Nord Stream 2, lift the sanctions and recognize it as Russian. The author also believes that Moscow intends to force NATO to put pressure on Ukraine to start implementing the Minsk agreements. However, the expert noted that the latter goal is difficult to achieve. At the same time, he agrees that if the situation reaches the point of absurdity and a “little skirmish on the border” begins, then the Russian authorities will put forward any demands.
In addition, the specialist said that the Polish leadership and the change of the German government are hindering Russia’s plans. If the EU is forced to take out migrants on buses deep into Europe, then Russia will be “on a white horse”, the author summed up.
Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union (EU) Vladimir Chizhov called the situation on the border of Poland and Belarus, where migrants were massively concentrated, surrealism. “The situation is acquiring features of surrealism. All this would have looked like elements of social fiction, if not for real people who suffer and, some of them, perish there, ”said Chizhov. In his opinion, what is happening on the Polish-Belarusian border “does no honor to either Poland, or the Russian Union, or everyone involved in this chain of events.”
On November 16, the illegal immigrants gathered on the Polish-Belarusian border tried to tear down the fences and began throwing stones, sticks and other things at the Polish military. In response, Poland fired tear gas, water cannons and stun grenades. As a result of the incident, there are casualties among the military, journalists and police.
