Toulouse: his dog bites a police officer in the leg, a condemned mother
A woman owner of a dog classified as dangerous was sentenced by the Toulouse Criminal Court on Wednesday. During a police intervention at his home, his animal bit a policeman on the leg.
This Wednesday, a woman, with a frail physique, small size, approaches the bar of the Toulouse Criminal Court. She is on trial for injuries sustained by her dog on a police officer. The facts date back to June 16. On that date, the police arrived at the defendant’s home. They have orders to arrest his son under a warrant.
“On the spot the police ask this lady to muzzle the American Staff breed dog, three years old, present in the hallway which has an aggressive attitude”, details the president of the hearing. But according to the men in uniform, the owner would not have complied. A version that the interested party refutes. “I said I had to go get the harness but they didn’t give me time,” said the mother of four.
Bitten three times
By the time the police arrived in the bedroom of one of this woman’s boys, the dog classified as dangerous got upset when he saw his master being handcuffed. “It is at this moment that he jumps on the policeman and bites him three times”, specifies the president of the hearing. Bites that will make the police scream in pain.
This American Staff called “Tyson” was finally overpowered by the son of this woman who asked the police to unhinder him for him to take care of. The official will be subject to two days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT). “I could not control it but things happened too quickly”, assures the owner of the dog, defended by Me Alfort. This mother was also prosecuted for not having had her dog sterilized because of its dangerous nature despite the reminders of the municipality but also for not having the permit authorizing the detention of the animal.
She was eventually sentenced to two months in prison with full suspension.
