The Constellation of the Bear, a night with Flaubert
The Rouen Normandie Metropolis supports the Normandy Region which is organizing, with the support of the city of Rouen, the “The Constellation of the Bear” event, on Saturday 20 November from 6.30 pm to 10 pm. On the occasion of the commemoration of the bicentenary of the birth of Gustave Flaubert in 2021, this festive and poetic evening, free and open to all, is an invitation to celebrate and share in the city center of Rouen, for one night. , the world of the illustrious Norman writer.
This Flaubert 21 event is particularly symbolic in this period of health crisis, in that it encourages creation in all its forms as well as artistic dissemination and provides support to creators and actors in the territories.
To prepare for this unique night, many artists and technicians from the region, all from Normandy, gathered around Amélie Clément, artistic director of the Compagnie du Ballon Vert, and Fabrice Desperrois, artistic director and founder of the Compagnie des Plastiqueurs, to create an urban scenography and re-enchant the city.
5 sites in the city center of Rouen are invested on this occasion:
- The Square Maurois (garden of the Antiquity Museum)
The square Maurois will be put in sound and light by the Plastic artists and the Ballon Vert. A gatehouse and a fairground sign offer spectators access to the square. The scenic and scenographic installations in the garden and its attributes will be accompanied by a performance with a dancer and two actors. A brazier path located near the promenade between the public evacuation buildings towards rue Beauvoisine.
Creation of a zig-zag journey along the road including scenographic punctuations. A character who goes up in the audience
Work to highlight the facades, installation of oriental plastic mats, DJ set echoing with a choir on the facade of the building
- Place du Chêne Rouge
Stage placed in the center of the triangulation of the Three street lamps of the square, with installation of lights, sounds and sets. Installation of mobile and autonomous scenographic elements.
- L’Esplanade Marcel Duchamps – Museum of Fine Arts of Rouen
Distribution of the digital work Salammbô by Jacques Perconte and Othman Louati, accompanied by two live musicians. A 25-minute loop that will be broadcast twice.
