Norte is the first region in Portugal to reach 90% of people with at least one dose against covid-19
The North is the first region in Portugal to reach 90% of the population with a dose of the vaccine against covid-19, confirmation of the vaccination report, released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS), this Wednesday. This region has 88% of people with the complete vaccination picture, having administered 5,741,442 doses, of which 10,109 were inoculated in the last week.
Still, Lisbon and Tagus Valley (LVT) is the region that administered the most vaccines – 11,540 out of a total of 5,676,721 – but it is still far from reaching the target of 90% in people with at least one dose, now 86 % with one and 84% with complete vaccination.
The Algarve remains the most backward region in terms of the number of doses inoculated against covid-19. Last week, 2,113 more received a dose of the vaccine, bringing the total vaccine administered to 691,614. Only 83% of the population in this region common a dose, while 81% has completed vaccination.
Alentejo continues to maintain important signs regarding vaccination. It administered another 1,229, making a total of 756,099 inoculated doses since the beginning of the campaign. 89% have normal at least one dose and 88% have completed a vaccination.
Last week, the Center inoculated another 3,793 vaccines, bringing the total number of doses administered to 2,672,275. This region has 88% of people with at least one dose and 87% with full vaccination.
With regard to the autonomous regions, Madeira continues to vaccinate more people against the virus than the Azores. However, a DGS indicates that anomalies were identified in the data from both archipelagos.
“The responsible entity in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (RAA) identified a delay between the administered vaccines and their registration, so that the necessary indicators for the Azores may be underestimated”, says the health authority. According to the data in the report, this island administered, last week, at least 401 of a total of 373,118 injected since the beginning of the vaccination. 84% have completed at least a dose, as well as completed the vaccination schedule.
“It was also identified by the responsible entity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) a possible underestimation of the number of people with complete vaccination, due to difficulties in counting the recovered and vaccinated people”, this situation under resolution, points out a DGS. Therefore, according to the data, Madeira inoculated 1,061 vaccines, bringing the total to 397,122. 85% have at least one dose, while possibly 84% have full vaccinations.
Portugal continues to climb towards the goal of 9 million vaccinated with at least one dose: 9,053,901 received a vaccine, which corresponds to 87%, and 8,925,907 already have two doses administered. The DGS has already normalized 23,017,910, but this number is being updated, according to the report, of which 17,211,348 were sent to the autonomous regions.
As for the distribution by age groups, the report indicates that the percentages remained the same in relation to last week’s document.
The only change is found in the 18 to 24 age group with 91% of the age group with the two inoculated doses, one percentage point more than last week.
