Judges for Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards

The judges of the third edition of the Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards (MBWYA), organized by HSBC Malta, have been announced. MBWYA, which is also supported by Farsons Group and Nestlé Malta, recognizes successful women business leaders and entrepreneurs. The Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards are being held again under the auspices of His Excellency George Vella, President of Malta.
This year, the panel of judges is made up of Dr Joseph Sammut, HSBC Malta General Counsel (Chair of the panel); Anne Marie Tabone, Chief Financial Officer of Farsons Group; Derek Vassallo, Out of Home Channel Manager and Member of the Executive Committee of Nestlé Malta; Marisa Xuereb, President of the House of Malta; and Helga Ellul, Director of Advise Ltd and President of CORE Platform.
Judges are considering nominations in four categories: Business of the Year Award, Woman of the Year Entrepreneur Award, Sustainability Role Model Award,and Company Award for Excellence in Promoting Women in Business.
Dr Sammut said: “Women remain underrepresented in leadership positions, despite the well-known fact that diversity has a positive impact on business performance. For this reason, HSBC Malta has established the MBWYA to celebrate successful women and hopefully inspire other women to pursue.their ambitions and encourage companies to further promote diversity.The judging process has proven to be a challenging one with so many exceptionally nominated what to consider, but we all enjoyed it. ”
The winners of the main prize in the previous two editions were Deborah Schembri who was recognized for her role in the growth of STM Malta Pension Services Limited into a leading pension provider and Natalie Briffa Farrugia, Chief Executive Officer of CareMalta Group Limited, for which it has been recognized. work in transforming the business to advanced facilities.
