Canceled in 2020 following the health crisis, the Noël des Alpes and its traditional Christmas market will be back in Annecy from November 22, 2021 to January 2, 2022. Compared to 2019, the number of chalets will double, from 80 to 150 , and will be spread over 9 sites in the Annecy center and its delegated municipalities. Among the novelties, carriage rides, musical podiums are planned. The traditional light projections will take place on the facades of the cathedral and the Old Prisons, in the courtyard of the music conservatory, on the tower of Annecy castle and on the Porte Sainte-Claire from November 26. In Annecy, the public will find five different atmospheres in five places: around the churches of Saint-Maurice and Saint-François, on the quai Vicenza, on the town hall esplanade. In the Martyrs de la Deportation square behind Bonlieu will be the Santa Claus Village for children. Place François-de-Menthon will host a space dedicated to gourmet scents over 1,300 m² with 52 chalets and a musical atmosphere for young people. Festivities will also be offered on rue Centrale in the Albigny district, in Annecy-le-Vieux, as well as in front of the Meythet town hall, Place Chorus and along the avenue de la République in Cran-Gevrier, a ice rink will be installed on the square of the town hall of Seynod. And finally, activities linked to nature and Christmas music will be offered at the Mas des Jacobins, in Pringy. The markets in downtown Annecy will be open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The other markets will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the 22nd. November 2021 to January 2, 2022.
Among the other events: the inhabitants of Haute-Savoie will find a “Christmas shopping” at the socio-cultural room of Mieussy on November 20 and 21, 2021, a Christmas market in Margencel on November 27 and 28. Les Féériques de Thonon-les-Bains, a new Christmas market on the shores of Lake Geneva, organized by the Tourist Office, in partnership with the city of Thonon, will be offered to the public from December 2, 2021 to January 2, 2022. The week -end from 3 and 4 December, another event of this type will be held in La Roche-sur-Foron. On December 5, many exhibitors will meet in Contamine-sur-Arve for the city’s Christmas market. Other events of this type will be held in Annemasse, December 8, 2021 to December 24, 2021, and in Cruseilles, on December 11 and 12, the same weekend as the artisanal Christmas market of Sciez, Douvaine and Musièges.
