Bishops condemn the protests against the green pass: “Far from the Gospel”
ROME – The judgment of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI) against the no vax protests is cutting and cutting: “Selfishness, indifference and irresponsibility”. The CEI is very tough against the demonstrations that have degenerated into clashes in recent weeks. In the message for the Day of Life, the bishops’ conference thinks back to the months of the pandemic: “many people are committed to safeguarding every life, both in the exercise of the profession, in the various expressions of voluntary work, and in the simple forms of solidarity neighborhood . Some have paid a very high price for their generous dedication ».
To them, they insist, is linked the hope of a restart that really makes us better. , thunder. Very often it was a question of understandably frightened and confused people, in other cases, however, these behaviors and some speeches expressed a vision of the human person and social relationships very far from the Gospel and the spirit of the Constitution.
The truth to be claimed, for the Church, is that every life, terminal or nascent, is potentially guarded. The bishops are in full campaign against the upcoming referendum for legal euthanasia: Without wishing to enter into the important legal issues involved, it is necessary to reiterate that there is no expression of compassion in helping to die, but the prevalence of an anthropological and nihilist in which neither hope nor interpersonal relationships find more space, they write taking up the words of President Gualtiero Bassetti. The position is clear: ending an existence is never a victory, neither of freedom, nor of humanity, nor of democracy: it is almost always the tragic outcome of people left alone with their problems and their desperation.
