Bijlow himself applied for the Netherlands-Norway: “I think it’s a great compliment”
Justin Bijlow could count on compliments from Louis van Gaal after the Netherlands-Norway. The first Orange goalkeeper dropped out after Saturday’s game against Montenegro with an injury: Bijlow made that decision himself, Van Gaal said afterwards.
The Feyenoord keeper was not already armpit fresh in Podgorica, pale and from the national coach. “He already had some problems before the match against Montenegro. But then he decided to play anyway,” said Van Gaal. “Now he had more problems again, then you get that the medics talk to each other. And then I say that I always want to know a day in advance whether someone is fit or not. And so Justin Bijlow had to decide a day before he was fit. was or not”, continued the national coach, who likes to set the ‘imagination process’ in wild in time.
Bijlow eventually himself to passenger. “And I think that’s a big compliment. Because in general, 23-year-old boys don’t do that so quickly, because they want to play that match. And I also told the group that I thought that was great.”
Tim Krul was added to the selection late on Monday evening, Mark Fleks seemed to keep it, but in the end it was Jasper Cillessen who was once again under the Orange bar. The Groesbeker kept a clean sheet.
